We are excited to introduce Dr. Monica Chwala and her tech, Cortney Evins, to the San Antonio metropolitan area. Dr. Chwala’s professional interests include infectious disease (i.e. fungal, pythium, tick-borne), auto immune diseases (IMHA, IMTP, IMPA), endocrinology (i.e. Diabetes mellitus, Cushing’s, thyroid diseases, Addison’s disease), hematology/biomarkers, hepatic diseases, and gastrointestinal diseases to name a few. One of my favorite procedures is ‘fishing’ out gastric foreign bodies. We are thrilled she will be sharing this expertise with the veterinary community in San Antonio. Please request a Meet & Greet with Dr. Chwala and learn about how our MOVES board-certified Internal Medicine Specialist can complement your practice.
San Antonio, TX | Internal Medicine
Dr. Monica Chwala earned her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. After graduation, she completed a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at North Carolina State University. Following this, she completed a 3-year residency program for small animal internal medicine at University of Wisconsin. She is a board-certified veterinary Internist with ACVIM (American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine).
Dr. Chwala is originally from Chicago, making her a proud foodie. She enjoys trying new restaurants and breweries in her spare time. To relax, she loves spending time with friends, family, and most importantly her 3 dogs — Addie, a Weimaraner, Xander, a “San Antonio Special” off the streets, and Ollie, her first small dog… a Chihuahua). She enjoys traveling, being in the sun either by the pool or on a beach, playing volleyball, horse-back riding, and watching movies.
Cortney Evins, LVT
MOVES is also pleased to announce the addition of Cortney Evins to our San Antonio, TX team. Cortney is an experienced licensed veterinary technician, and she will be working alongside Dr. Chwala to make it even easier for general practice and emergency hospitals throughout San Antonio to host advanced cardiology services.
